About me

Hello!

Hi, my name is Irati. I'm from Bilbao. Whenever I can, I escape to the countryside or the beach, travel, or go to village festivals in the summer. Nothing we don't all do, but I'd like to tell you how I got here. To be the photographer of your best moments.

This was me

The truth is, I never really knew what to do with my life. In fact, like most people, I suppose, I don't have a story to tell. I felt passionately about photography since I was a child, as if I had an innate gift or a mystical energy drew me to a camera. I never really considered any of this until my mother, who knew how lost I was and knew me very well, suggested it to me. What was always clear was that I was an artistic person. So I threw myself into studying photography; it was a wonderful discovery… Until a few years ago, there was still a professional photography program where, during the first term, they gave you an analog camera and had you take pictures with it and develop them. I have very fond memories of that time. I would go out with my classmates to look for things to photograph. Sometimes we would go to the countryside or the beach for a while, and when we ran out of film, we would return to the center to develop the photos in the labs. There really is something magical about developing in the silence and darkness of a photography lab…

I took more turns in life

After photography, I decided to continue studying because I fell in love with the audiovisual world. I completed a higher education program in Audiovisual Project and Performance Production. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with the entertainment world along the way. I even applied for an internship at a theater; I really liked live lighting (it was already clear that this passion came from photography), and after a lot of studying, I ended up working at the same photo studio where I interned during my first training program.

I really got into weddings. I worked with a photographer who saw weddings as a way to capture moments. Technically speaking, I did documentary photography, but instead of shooting for a newspaper, I did it for weddings. He's a photographer who's doing very well. We had a lot of work, and I'm not surprised because even people who aren't photographers know this: sometimes the most beautiful photos are those taken when you're not looking, when you're not realizing, when you're not posing, when you're laughing...

Precisely for all this, I like to take photos as naturally as possible; I adapt to whatever makes you feel most comfortable. My job is to guide you in creating beautiful memories to immortalize. That's why I take a lot of photos at home. I come to your home if you want family photos, where the little ones feel more comfortable, and so do you. And if you don't like posing, I'm happy to tell you that... all you have to do is be yourself! I'll guide you throughout the session. You can also do it with me. It could be anything you do as a family or as a couple: cooking, playing with the kids...
